That was then Thursday

Poor little Holly! This pic was taken at the Mayo Clinic July 1984,
I was 10 years old and had just had my 2nd AND 3rd heart surgeries
a couple of weeks earlier.
I was still obviously not a happy camper and hated eating.
But the real reason that I posted this pic
was to see if anyone could tell me....
What is up with the sideburns?

I wouldn't smile for the longest time, my dad would repeatedly tell me to smile but I would just give him these hateful stares. However after quite a while I did feel well enough to smile.

I always feel so bad about all that you've been through, but in a strange way, its helped to create the amazing person you are today--and you're beautiful with or without sideburns!

It's so funny, but that first picture doesn't even look like you! I don't know a Holly with out a smile. The second was a relief for me.

I'm LOVIN the sideburns. Seriously, where can I get me some?

That first picture makes me want to cry a little. Not because of the sideburns - but because I can tell you felt so awful. Even, the times I've seen you in the hospital you are still laughing - so that time must have been really really really bad. By the way...I don't know why you are so worried about the sideburns...you totally have a MULLET in the second picture!
