4th of July in Australia!!

This was a fun 4th of July because the USS Essex docked at Cairns for a week. There were Marines and Sailors everywhere! I just had fun going from officer to officer finding out where they were from. Quintin was quite embarrassed because I wanted my pic with all of them.
We met Madison, one of the laurels in our branch downtown and introduced her to her first 4th of July celebration. This pic is us with a bunch of drunk sailors in front of a well known bar in Cairns that we were walking past on the way to our car. The local news station filmed us singing the National Anthem with them (Madison just waved the flag) I had to do damage control at church the next day. I imagined that everyone would be asking me why I was with drunk sailors at a bar with the newest convert. They just all laughed and thought it was funny. Whew!
This was as good as the 8-10 minute firework display got. We are spoiled with fireworks in America.
A firework caught Quintin's attention as I tried to take a cute pic of us.
This is Madison and myself with Jill Wolff and 2 of her kids from our branch. (Jill is from Idaho)
